SmarTone clinches multiple awards in the 2023 Service Talent Award for its excellent service quality
SHKP's subsidiary SmarTone is widely recognized by the market for its premium service. In the 2023 Service Talent Award, organized by the Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA), Ron Chiu and Joseph Leung, from SmarTone frontline team, clinched the Gold Award in the Supervisory and Junior Frontline Level, respectively, under the Telecommunications Category, making the company the only telecommunications service provider to win two gold awards. In addition, after a comprehensive assessment conducted by the HKRMA's Quality E-Shop Recognition Scheme, the SmarTone Online Store stood out from over 100 nominated online stores, winning the Annual Top 10 Quality Trusted E-shops Award, showing that SmarTone is recognized by its industry peers for its customer-centric philosophy and exceptional customer service.

Over 40-year-old Sun Hung Kai Centre Awarded LEED Platinum Certification
With a history of over 40 years, our company's headquarters, Sun Hung Kai Centre, has been awarded LEED Platinum certification under "v4.1 Operations and Maintenance: Existing Buildings".
The recently launched video highlighted the numerous sustainability efforts of Sun Hung Kai Centre, which demonstrate the Group's commitment to staying in line with the latest trends through continuous enhancements and innovations. The building has undergone retro-commissioning for its various systems to ensure optimum efficiency, and a smart building management system has also been introduced to save energy and reduce emissions. Since 2005, over 65 million kWh of electricity has been saved, resulting in an impressive reduction of 42,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The Group will continue to monitor and enhance the environmental performance of its existing buildings, aiming to achieve LEED certification for all new investment properties, in particular, LEED Gold or Platinum ratings for core commercial projects under development.

TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON launches short-stay hotel service following the long-term apartment leasing
TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON, the all-new seafront flagship development in West Kowloon under the Group’s flexible leasing brand, TOWNPLACE, has leased the first two batches of 285 units, after receiving an overwhelming response from the market. Its tenants include young local professionals, visitors to Hong Kong under the Top Talent Pass Scheme, and overseas and domestic students who have come to Hong Kong to study. In addition to its long-term apartment leasing, TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON announced the launch of a short-stay hotel service to provide young professionals who visit Hong Kong for business or short trips with a fully-furnished apartment, flexible leasing options and premium hotel service. The project is currently offering both short-stay hotel service and long-term apartment leasing.
Design aesthetics create a personalized space
TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON operates using the innovative Aparthotel hybrid short- and long-term hotel leasing model, enabling residents to choose a flexible rental period of days, months or years to meet their various living needs. The 843-unit project in TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON has been launched in phases, offering studio to three-bedroom units, with unit sizes ranging from about 243 to 860 square feet. All units were designed by world-renowned architectural firm Conran and Partners and top Hong Kong architectural firm LAAB, with both aesthetics and practicality in mind.
The project's primary studio units demonstrate the ultimate use of space. The design team constructed a variety of partitions for the studio units, using intelligent furniture positioning and multi-functional vertical storage space to create flexible and versatile living spaces, providing high-quality smart homes to meet the needs of millennial residents (TOWNERS).
TP SOCIAL CLUB designed exclusively for residents
TOWNPLACE WEST KOWLOON is home to TP SOCIAL CLUB, a nearly 53,000-square-foot premium place to make your own and live the "bleisure lifestyle", where work and play come together. With its professional and attentive service, the New Town Plaza III team won the Bronze Award in the Best Team Award, and its ambassador, Shing Ka-ho, won the Gold Award in the Supervisory Level – Retail Services & Property Management. Chiu Tak-ling, from V Walk, won the Gold Award in the Junior Frontline Level – Property Management. In addition, the YOHO Mall team clinched the Silver Award in the Retail Excellence Award with its newly launched pet park and related innovative services.

SmarTone's brand and network performance recognized by authoritative international organizations
SmarTone has continuously invested in and developed digital infrastructure and established the widest 5G network in Hong Kong over the past few years, providing SmarTone customers with a premium network experience. It also introduced the first plug-and-play 5G broadband service in the city in 2020, providing broadband users with a cost-effective, more flexible alternative. Thanks to its strong dedication to advance with the times and its customer-centric approach, SmarTone recently received recognition from two authoritative organizations, affirming its premium service to the market.
In the inaugural "Kantar BrandZ Top 30 Strongest Brands in Hong Kong" report, SmarTone was recognized as the "Strongest Communications Brand in Hong Kong" and the only mobile operator listed in of "Top 10 Strongest Brands in Hong Kong". Published by Kantar, a global independent data research and consulting firm, with another organization, the report evaluated the performance of 129 brands across nine categories over the past two years and analysed the cultural influence and asset value of the brands.
In addition, in a recent network report for Hong Kong published by Opensignal, an authoritative organization conducting research on global mobile network quality, SmarTone was the only network provider in Hong Kong to excel in the "Availability" and "Consistent Quality" categories, as well as attaining the highest score in the "5G video experience" and "Overall video experience" categories. This recognition is a testament to SmarTone's distinguished service quality and its leading position in the mobile communications market in Hong Kong.
New Graduate Trainees pursue their aspirations to become professional executives
SHKP strives to nurture young talent through various initiatives, including the Graduate Trainee Programme for university graduates. In the programme, the trainees acquire extensive work opportunities under the mentorship of seasoned colleagues, and attend lectures and on-the-job training to hone their work and management skills to become professional executives. The company recently organized an induction programme for this year's Graduate Trainees, which provided them with an opportunity to meet with senior executives and visit various projects, including the landmark project International Finance Centre (IFC), a new residential project, NOVO LAND in Tuen Mun, and the construction site of the mega project in Sai Sha. They gained a comprehensive understanding of SHKP's diversified businesses, helping them fit into the SHKP family.
Sanfield organizes a Summer Internship Programme to nurture talent for the construction industry
To help the construction industry nurture talent, SHKP's Sanfield Construction (Sanfield) organizes the Summer Internship Programme every year. This year, Sanfield recruited 72 university students in Hong Kong. During the internships, the students gained hands-on experience in state-of-the-art technology applications in the industry and visited the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to broaden their horizons and acquire valuable work experience, thus laying a solid foundation for their future career development.
The recruited undergraduates this year are studying at various universities, such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and are majoring in civil engineering, structural engineering, building construction, quantity surveying, electrical engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering and safety, and related subjects. This year, Sanfield arranged a visit to SHKP's factories and residential development in the GBA for the interns to learn about SHKP's strict quality requirements in its developments. In the recent graduation ceremony and sharing session of the Summer Internship Programme, SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok said the visit aimed to broaden the interns’ horizons and enrich their understanding of the GBA to help them ride on the development opportunities of the country in the future.
During the internship, under the instruction of seasoned colleagues, the students took part in various construction processes and acquired hands-on experience with some of the advanced technologies applied in the existing projects. For instance, they used a drone to take photographs and collect data, leveraged Building Information Modelling (BIM) to create a realistic 4D model and experienced virtual reality. These experiences allow them to see how these innovative technologies provide convenience to construction industry practitioners. After the Summer Internship Programme, the students said they gained comprehensive knowledge of the industry and valuable experience through the programme, and hoped to reach their full potential in their future careers.

SHKP landmark developments receive recognition in the Excellent Building Award 2023
SHKP values the quality of its products and services and maintains the outstanding performance of its properties by enhancing their software and hardware. Three SHKP landmark developments, International Commerce Centre (ICC), Sun Hung Kai Centre and V city, recently clinched multiple awards at the Excellent Building Award 2023, which was organized by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. The awards are a testament to the remarkable overall performance of the property management team.
ICC and V city win the Grand Award
ICC and shopping mall V city, both managed by Kai Shing, won the Grand Award under the Existing Building category with their excellent performance in energy saving and green management. ICC also won the Carbon Neutrality Achievement Award. ICC has leveraged intelligent technologies for years to monitor and control the operation and electricity consumption of various appliances. It also utilizes Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology to collect and analyse big data to optimize the energy efficiency of the building. After introducing smart management and a solar power renewable energy system, V city reduced electricity consumption by over 30%.
Sun Hung Kai Centre wins the Grand Award and three other significant awards
The 42-year-old Sun Hung Kai Centre, managed by the Hong Yip property management team, introduced various technologies that have greatly enhanced maintenance and energy efficiency, thus meeting the increasing needs and expectations of its tenants. In addition to the Grand Award under the Existing Building Category, the development clinched the Retro-Commissioning Award, the Anti-epidemic (Covid-19) Achievement Award, and the Excellent Leadership Award, demonstrating the spirit of Building Homes with Heart.
