'I'm Going to Work' parent-child workshop
Children are often curious about their parents' jobs, so Group Training organized the 'I'm Going to Work' parent-child workshop, in which the participating children went to mock job interviews and worked as interns. The children 'applied for' different occupations based on their interests to get a taste of 'job searching'. During the preparation process, they learnt about communication skills and basic courtesy, boosted their confidence, and acquired interview skills.

'Eating for Health' seminar
The company recently invited a professional instructor, to teach colleagues how to eat a healthier diet. He talked about how antibiotics, hormones and additives 'pollute' foods and the negative impact they have on our body. He also taught colleagues some ways to eat well, such as avoiding processed foods, choosing fresh meat, and eating more vegetables, fruits, tofu and whole-grain foods. He shared a 'formula' which can help us maintain vitality:

Seeking 'new owners' of good books
The company organized a 'Books as Blessing' activity in early August, which allowed colleagues to pick and take home their favourite from over 1,000 books. The books were either donated by colleagues or from the Group Training library. The participants went home fully loaded after this rewarding two-day event.

SHKP Bowling Tournament won by Royal Plaza Hotel
The company recently organized a bowling tournament, with 15 teams participating from different departments and subsidiaries. The Royal Plaza Hotel team was the champion, Kai Shing – Team 1 was runner up, and Hong Yip – Team 1 was second runner up. Cheng Ka-chun of Hong Yip was awarded both the 'Highest-scoring Male Player' and 'Highest-scoring Individual in a Round'; Chan Shui-yuk of Kai Shing won the 'Highest-scoring Female Player' award.
The children of many colleagues participated in the event too. The company made special arrangements for colleagues to bowl with their family for leisure on several lanes.

Learn more about cancer and live a healthy life
Cancer is the deadliest illness in Hong Kong. Group Training recently invited Clinical Oncology Specialist Dr. Sze Wing-kin to explain the causes, treatments and prevention of cancer to colleagues to help them improve their lifestyle and avoid the illness.
Dr. Sze said that eating more food rich in antioxidants can help prevent cancer and even combat the effects of ageing. This type of food includes grapes, berries (such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries), nuts, broccoli, green tea, fish and a moderate amount of red wine. He also advised the participants to practice meditation, which can soothe the emotions, reduce stress and enhance immunity.

Visit the Science Museum to experience the exciting Winter Games
Recently, the company arranged for colleagues to take their family members to the Science Museum to visit the latest exhibition 'Winter Games'. Through more than 20 interactive exhibits, everyone got the chance to experience the various ice sports events and learn about the scientific principles behind them.

Slimming detox yoga class
The company recently invited a professional yoga instructor to teach colleagues a series of yoga moves during lunch break. If practiced regularly, the moves can have multiple benefits, including strengthening the heart and lung functions, burning fat and enhancing muscle endurance. Coupled with yoga breathing methods, the moves can even help you slim down and detox by improving your metabolism, removing toxins from the body and boosting immunity.

The top Chinese marathon runner in Hong Kong shares how he broke the limits
SHKP recently invited Hong Kong Chinese marathon record-holder Tsui Chi-kin to share with our colleagues his journey to becoming a full-time athlete and some training tips. In last year's Berlin Marathon, Tsui broke the over 26-year record among Hong Kong Chinese marathon runners, beating the individual best time by more than five minutes. At the sharing session, colleagues who are long-distance running enthusiasts learned a lot from Tsui's experience in breaking the limits and overcoming obstacles. The participants were motivated by Tsui's intensive special training sessions in Kenya and benefitted from his professional tips on long-distance running training.

Savouring Taiwanese cuisine in Hong Kong
SHKP organized a Taiwanese cuisine cooking class recently. The instructor taught colleagues how to make an oyster omelette, beef noodles, three-cup chicken (sanbeiji), cheese tea, and brown sugar bubble milk to get a taste of Taiwan.
